Occupational Therapy using HIppotherapy in Pennington NJ.

Choosing a therapist brings up lots of questions- from training and qualifications to insurance and out of pocket costs.  Read below to see answers to the most common questions.

What does and OT session look like at Unicorn?

I provide in-home and community OT sessions, but OT at Unicorn is special.  I am able to integrate many tools into my OT sessions, including the use of the horses at Unicorn.  Your childs' session is customized to your goals and your childs' needs.  It will include time on the horse, time to communicate your needs and questions, and activities to practice skills for meeting your goals.

Do you accept my insurance?

I am not in-network with any provider.  I do not accept or bill insurance.  This allows me to work with your child without the constraints of insurance limitations.  I do provide all the necessary documentation to seek insurance reimbursement for OT services.

How much does a session cost?

Occupational therapy services are provided at $40/15 minutes.  The length of the session is decided together during the evaluation process.  Sessions can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long.  The cost of the evaluation is a one-time fee of $125.

What are your areas of expertise?

I am an NJ licensed Occupational Therapist and I have devoted my career to working with children and families.  I have focused on the use of nature as my way of helping.  I am certified in Sensory Integration and am a Board Certified Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist.  I serve on the American Hippotherapy Association Faculty and have taught hippotherapy principles across the US and Internationally.  I am an adjunct professor for the RVCC Occupational Therapy Assistant program- teaching pediatrics and mental health.  I love helping families find solutions to use every day.
